Mike Aber
While Mike Aber was working in a US-based think tank in China collecting information via on the ground informal interviews, he found his passion in obtaining hard to get information. Mike then worked as an investigator in New York, working on projects in connection with supply chain security matters, private equity deals, litigation cases, corporate contests, and human intelligence inquiries. In Mike’s most recent position, he co-headed the private equity due diligence practice at an investigations firm based out of Washington, DC.
Mike received his M.A. in International Studies from Johns Hopkins University SAIS. He received a B.A. from the University of Colorado.
Mike Seyer
Mike Seyer is a Partner at Espile and began his career in the industry as a consultant to the research team at a New York hedge fund manager. It was here that he learned how to uncover the stories about a company and its management that the financials don't tell. Following this experience, Mike worked alongside Mike Aber at two investigative boutiques, specializing in pre-deal diligence, shareholder activism / corporate defense, and source interviews. His job is to ask: what pieces of the story are missing, and how do we find them?
Mike received master's degrees in Eurasian Area Studies from Georgetown University and the European University of St. Petersburg. He received his B.A. from Villanova University.
